The Writing Process

Writing is a process that involves at least four distinct steps: prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing. It is known as a recursive process. While you are revising, you might have to return to the prewriting step to develop and expand your ideas.

1. Prewriting is anything you do before you write a draft of your document. It includes thinking, taking notes, talking to others, brainstorming, outlining, and gathering information (e.g., interviewing people, researching in the library, assessing data).

2. Although prewriting is the first activity you engage in, generating ideas is an activity that occurs throughout the writing process.

Drafting

1. Drafting occurs when you put your ideas into sentences and paragraphs. Here you concentrate upon explaining and supporting your ideas fully. Here you also begin to connect your ideas. Regardless of how much thinking and planning you do, the process of putting your ideas in words changes them; often the very words you select evoke additional ideas or implications.

2. Don’t pay attention to such things as spelling at this stage.

3. This draft tends to be writer-centered: it is you telling yourself what you know and think about the topic.

Revising

1. Revision is the key to effective documents. Here you think more deeply about your readers’ needs and expectations. The document becomes reader-centered. How much support will each idea need to convince your readers? Which terms should be defined for these particular readers? Is your organization effective? Do readers need to know X before they can understand Y?

2. At this stage you also refine your prose, making each sentence as concise and accurate as possible. Make connections between ideas explicit and clear.

Editing

1. Check for such things as grammar, mechanics, and spelling. The last thing you should do before printing your document is to spell check it.

2. Don’t edit your writing until the other steps in the writing process are complete.

Quotes About Saying Goodbye To Preschool Students. QuotesGram by @quotesgram | Poems about school, Teacher poems, End of school year

Dear Students:

This year has been fantastic!  It is hard to believe that it is coming to an end.  On this last day of school, I want you to know that you and your classmates have amazed me in SO MANY ways.

I have talked to some of you often.  Some of you have avoided talking to me at all costs.  Some of you have shared your joys with me and made me laugh.  Others have shared heartbreaking experiences that made me cry.  Some of you have poured your thoughts and feelings into your writing.  Some of you have worked to overcome your fears so that you can begin to reach your dreams and goals.

Some of you have made me very proud this year.  Some of you have frustrated me, but only because I want you to see in yourself the potential that I see in you.

Some of you have found online school to be your perfect match.  Some of you are just learning what online education is all about.

Some of you have discovered yourselves this year.  Some of you have become leaders.  Some of you have excelled at helping others.  Some of you are still finding your unique place in the world, and that is okay, too.

All of you made progress in some way.  And that is what matters most.

Before you turn off your computer for the summer, write yourself a note to read on the first day of school next year.  Remind yourself how you feel RIGHT NOW.  Remind yourself what you did well this year and what you want to improve.  Remind yourself of a few rules that you want to set for next year – and WHY.  Remind yourself that Mrs. Camacho believes in you.  Read your note in August, and then post it where you can see it every day.  Next year will come with the same distractions and temptations, maybe even more, so it will be important to follow your own advice.

Most importantly, believe in yourself.  I will miss you next year, but I know that you must move forward in order to accomplish the great things that your life has in store.  Stop holding yourself hostage.  Stop letting your fears hold you back.  LET YOURSELF do great things Give yourself permission to DO better.  Give yourself permission to BE better.  Give yourself permission to BE SUCCESSFUL, even if no one else is telling you that it can happen.

IT CAN HAPPEN.

BELIEVE IT.

WORK TOWARD IT.

And be sure to tell me what you accomplish!

I am grateful that I had the opportunity to teach you.  Thank you for a great year!

Sincerely,

Miss Maleny .

I like to share this video with you all...

Graduation (Friends Forever)

And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we turn 25
I keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the same (Same)
But when we leave this year, we won't be coming back
No more hanging out 'cause we're on a different track
And if you got something that you need to say
You better say it right now
'Cause you don't have another day
'Cause we're moving on, and we can't slow down
These memories are playing like a film without sound
And I keep thinking of that night in June
I didn't know much of love, but it came too soon (Too soon)
And there was me and you, and then it got real blue
Stay at home talkin' on the telephone
And we would get so excited, and we'd get so scared
Laughing at…

so .. my dear students I guess I´ll see you latter!!!

TAYLOR SWIFT

 TAYLOR SWIFT

For years, Taylor Swift has been breaking records in the music industry and winning awards for her singing and  song writting prowess

And although you might know the words to all of her hit songs, there are a few things you may not know about the  country-turned-pop singer .

Here are some interesting things you may not know about Swift:

1.-She wrote every song on her third album, "Speak Now."

"I wrote all the songs myself for this record,"    swift shared in online video chat with fans in 2010 as per CMT's report.

She continued, "It didn't really happen on purpose. It just sort of happened that way. I'd get my best ideas at 3 a.m. in Arkansas and didn't have a co-writer around and I'd just finish it. And that would happen again in New York; that would happen again in Boston; that would happen again in Nashville."

2.- Swift grew up on a Christmas tree farm.

In a 2014 interview with Esquire, the singer said  she grew uo on a christmas tree farm from ages 5 to 10.

"It was such a weird place to grow up. But it has cemented in me this unnatural level of excitement about fall and then the holiday season," she told the publication.

In 2019 she even released a Christmas song called "Christmas Tree Farm" and the video is comprised  of clips from her childhood.

Taylor's parents knew she was talented and moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee so she would be close to Nashville. It took a few years of hard work, but in 2006 Taylor released her first single "Tim McGraw" and a self-title debut album. Both were very successful. The album reached number 1 on the Top Country Albums and was at the top of the charts for 24 out of the next 91 weeks. Taylor's music career did not slow down. Her second album, Fearless, was even bigger than her first. It was the most downloaded country album in history at one time and had 7 songs in the top 100 at the same time. Three different songs from the album all had over 2 million paid downloads each. Taylor was now a superstar. The success of Fearless did not stop with commercial success and sales, the album also won many critical awards including Grammy Awards for Album of the Year, Best Country Album, Best Female Country Vocal (White Horse), and Best Country Song (White Horse). Taylor's third album, Speak Now, sold over 1 million copies in the first week.

Blank Space

Nice to meet you, where you been?
I could show you incredible things
Magic, madness, heaven, sin
Saw you there and I thought
"Oh, my God, look at that face
You look like my next mistake
Love's a game, wanna play?" Ay
New money, suit and tie
I can read you like a magazine
Ain't it funny rumors fly
And I know you heard about me
So hey, let's be friends
I'm dying to see how this one ends
Grab your passport and my hand
I can make the bad guys good for a weekend
So it's gonna be forever
Or it's gonna go down in flames
You can tell me when it's over, mmh
If the high was worth the pain
Got a long list of ex-lovers
They'll tell you I'm insane
'Cause you know I love the players
And you love the game
'Cause we're young and we're reckless
We'll take this way too far
It'll…

WELCOME !!

En este Blog encontrarás información interesante y variada para practicar tu inglés ...

                                                   So.... no more Spanish!!

Hope you can join me , and you´ll be able to find articles about almost everything!!

To start , here you have some good advices for improving your English...

10 secretos para hablar inglés de manera exitosa | English Live Blog

  1.-  Speak English to improve

This may sound like an obvious suggestion, but the most important thing to do is speak the language.

take the opportunity to speak with anyone, and speak with everyone, whether that is face-to-face or online. Everything helps.

2.-Don’t focus on your mistakes

It is the fear of making a mistake often keeps people silent. And it is an unnecessary fear, although you cannot help how you feel.

However, remember that making mistakes can be a good thing. Making mistakes is how we learn everything.

So, make mistakes: it’s all part of the process. Just remember to learn from those mistakes.

3.-Ask the people around you to correct you

People will not correct your English unless you ask them to. The belief is that it is impolite to correct someone, especially when you are probably doing a really good job anyway.

You will soon find yourself well on your way to speaking fluently in English.

4.-Record yourself speaking

Now, no one particularly enjoys listening to themselves speak, but this is an incredibly useful activity for you to follow in order to understand better how you pronounce your words, as well as to identify the rhythm of your sentences.

Compare what you are saying to the correct pronunciation of words, and to the rhythm of native speakers.

5.-Cross-train

(improving your listening, reading and writing will improve your speaking ability)

Remember that  everything is connected, and cross-training is the process of improving one skill indirectly through improvement in the others.

In particular, give time to activities that focus on two skills at the same time. For example, watching a movie while reading the subtitles: you are listening and reading at the same time, which means two key skills are being developed.

6.-Speak about everything

When seeking to improve at anything, you must take yourself out of your comfort zone. So that means speaking about subjects that you don’t normally cover in English.

In terms of discussion, how about an interesting debate on the future of robots? Or the benefits of space travel? Not easy topics in any language.

Speak about subjects that really challenge you to take your English to the next level.

7.-But also speak particularly about the things you enjoy

Speak about any topic that you really like,. And it’s amazing how one topic can translate to another.

That is a transferable skill whatever way you look at it. So, when practising, speak about what you love, but in English. The benefits will easily project to other areas.

Apply them , I´m  sure you will find yourself more confident and fluent sooner than later !!!!

See you next week!!!
